MINI FONDO ARGENTINA 2025 RULES
1. Purpose of the Event
The Mini Fondo Argentina is a recreational and educational activity aimed at children aged 6 to 13. Its objective is to promote cycling as a tool for social transformation in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
100% of the proceeds will go to the social project of the Gran Fondo Argentina: the creation of the first Argentine Cycling School for children from Barrio 31 in Retiro (CABA).
2. Location
Parque Sarmiento, Buenos Aires City, Av. Dr. Ricardo Balbín 4750, CABA.
3. Mini Fondo Argentina Event Program
- 3.1. Accreditation and kit pick-up:
- Friday, October 10, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Saturday, October 11, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- 3.3. Mini Fondo Argentina Race:
- Saturday, October 11, at 2:00 PM
4. Categories
- PEDALOCOCOS (6 and 7 years old): 3 km. (*)
- VELOCIRUEDAS (8 and 9 years old): 3 km. (*)
- BICIVOLADORES (10 and 11 years old): 3 km.
- RIDERS (12 and 13 years old): 6 km.
(*) In the first two categories, parents may enter the track, always behind the group, without overtaking the children.
→ Categories are defined according to the child’s age on the day of the race.
→ All categories are mixed, except the Riders category (12–13 years), where prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female cyclists.
→ Cyclists must be able to complete the course without external assistance.
→ The organization reserves the right to merge categories if there are few participants.
5. Participation Requirements, Accreditation, and Race Kit Pick-up
To participate, it is mandatory that the parent or legal guardian (responsible adult) of each participant presents the following original documents:
- Authorization and Liability Waiver: Hand-signed by the adult, authorizing the child to participate in the race and acknowledging that the event involves physical activity and cycling, with inherent risks including, but not limited to, falls, impacts, injuries, accidents, and/or material damage.
- Identification of the responsible adult: ID card, passport, or national identity document.
- Proof of the child’s age: ID, birth certificate, or other official document.
The organization reserves the right to limit entries or reject registrations.
6. Participation Kit
Each registrant will receive:
- Race number for the bicycle
- Wristband for track access
- Optitech brand Buff as a gift
- Finisher medal
- Number for category-specific prize draws
7. Mandatory Equipment
- Bicycle in perfect condition and with brakes
- Helmet worn and secured at all times during the race
- Not allowed:
- Bikes with training wheels
- Aero bars, extensions, or dangerous accessories
- Electric bikes, recumbent bikes, tandems, unicycles
8. Event Development
- Start order will be by category and grid position. Routes are adapted for each age group.
- The finish is reached only when the cyclist crosses the finish line on their bicycle.
- The organization may prevent any child from participating if it considers that their bicycle or the responsible adult’s equipment poses a safety risk to themselves or others.
9. Prizes and Raffles
- All participants will receive a Finisher Medal.
- In the Riders category (12–13 years), top male and female cyclists will receive awards.
- Prize draws will take place for each category, giving all cyclists a chance to win.
10. Conduct and Safety
- Headphones and mobile phones are prohibited during the race.
- Pushing, dragging, or physically assisting other participants is not allowed.
- Cutting the course is prohibited.
- Cyclists must show respect toward organizers, volunteers, other cyclists, and accompanying adults.
- Offensive or abusive language is prohibited during the race.
11. Acceptance of Risk
Participation in Mini Fondo Argentina is the sole responsibility of the participant and their responsible adult.
The adult must ensure that the child is in adequate health for the event.
The adult is responsible for ensuring that the bicycle and cyclist comply with all safety rules.
The organization is not responsible for accidents before, during, or after the race, beyond any insurance coverage.
12. Insurance
The responsible adult must provide personal accident insurance for the child.
The organizer may offer additional insurance coverage at their sole discretion.
13. Final Provisions
Registration implies full acceptance of these rules, terms and conditions, and privacy policies.
The organizer reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to deny or revoke participation, as well as to disqualify a cyclist when circumstances warrant.
The organization may modify rules, routes, or schedules for safety or force majeure reasons.
