MINI FONDO ARGENTINA 2025 RULES

 

1. Purpose of the Event

The Mini Fondo Argentina is a recreational and educational activity aimed at children aged 6 to 13. Its objective is to promote cycling as a tool for social transformation, in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.

100% of the proceeds will be allocated to the social project of Gran Fondo Argentina: the creation of the first Argentine Cycling School for children from Barrio 31 of Retiro (CABA).

 

2. Location

Parque Sarmiento, Buenos Aires City, Av. Dr. Ricardo Balbín 4750, CABA.

 

3. Mini Fondo Argentina Event Program

  • 3.1. Accreditation and kit pick-up:
    • Friday, October 10, from 9:00 to 20:00
    • Saturday, October 11, from 9:00 to 13:00
  • 3.3. Mini Fondo Argentina Race:
    • Saturday, October 11 at 14:00

 

4. Categories

  1. PEDALOCOCOS (6 and 7 years old): 3 km. (*)
  2. VELOCIRUEDAS (8 and 9 years old): 3 km.
  3. BICIVOLADORES (10 and 11 years old): 6 km.
  4. RIDERS (12 and 13 years old): 6 km.
    (*) In the Pedalococos category, parents may enter the track, always behind the peloton, without overtaking them.

→ Categories are defined according to the children’s age on the day of the race.

→ All categories are mixed, except the Riders (12 and 13 years old) category, where the first three male and female cyclists will be awarded.

→ Cyclists must be able to complete the course without external assistance.

→ The organization reserves the right to combine categories if there are few registrants.

 

5. Participation Requirements, Accreditation, and Race Kit Pick-up

To participate in the event, it is mandatory that the father, mother, or legal guardian (responsible adult) of each participant under their care presents the following documentation, in original:

  1. Authorization to participate in the race and waiver of liability with handwritten signature, in which the adult authorizes the child’s participation in the race; they also acknowledge and accept that the event involves physical and cycling sports activities with the inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, impacts, physical injuries, accidents, and/or material damages.
  2. Identification document (ID, identity card, or passport) of the responsible adult.
  3. Proof of age (ID, identity card, or birth certificate) of the child participating.
  4. The organization reserves the right to limit spots or reject registrations.

 

6. Participation Kit

Each registrant will receive:

  • Number for the bicycle
  • A wristband to enter the track
  • Gift Buff from the brand Optitech
  • Finisher Medal
  • A number for the corresponding category raffles.

 

7. Mandatory Equipment

  • Bicycle in perfect condition and with brakes
  • Helmet use, properly fastened at all times during the course
  • Not allowed:
    • Bicycles with training wheels
    • Handlebar extensions, aerobars, or dangerous elements
    • Electric bicycles, recumbents, tandems, unicycles.

 

8. Event Development

  • The start order will be by category and grid arrival order.
  • The routes are adapted for each age group.
  • A responsible adult may accompany the child on the track in the Pedalococos category – children 6 and 7 years old – respecting the rule of not overtaking the peloton.
  • The finish is only achieved when the cyclist crosses the finish line on their bicycle.
  • The organization may prevent any child from participating if they consider that: their bicycle and/or their adult’s bicycle represents a risk to their safety or that of other participants.

 

9. Prizes and Raffles

  • All participants will receive a Finisher Medal.
  • In the Riders (12–13 years old) category, awards will also be given to the first male and female places.
  • Raffles will be held among all participants in each category, so that all cyclists have a chance to win a prize.

 

10. Conduct and Safety

  • The use of headphones and cell phones during the race is prohibited.
  • Pushing, dragging, or giving physical assistance between participants is not allowed.
  • Shortcutting the course is prohibited.
  • Cyclists must behave respectfully towards organizers, volunteers, other cyclists, and/or the adults accompanying them.
  • No cyclist may use rude or abusive language during the competition.

 

11. Acceptance of Risk

Participation in the Mini Fondo Argentina is under the sole responsibility of each registrant and their responsible adult.

The responsible adult must ensure that the child’s health is adequate for the event.

The adult is responsible for ensuring that the bicycle and cyclist comply with all established safety rules.

The organization will not be responsible for accidents occurring before, during, or after the race, beyond the coverage of the contracted insurance.

 

12. Insurance

The responsible adult of each competitor must provide a personal accident insurance policy for the child. The organizer may offer additional insurance coverage at their discretion.

 

13. Final Provisions

Registration implies full acceptance of these rules and terms and conditions.

The organizer reserves the right, at its sole and complete discretion, to deny entry and/or revoke the entry request of any registrant, as well as to disqualify a cyclist when circumstances warrant it.

The participation of children in the race implies authorization for the use of their image in official event photos and videos.

The organization may modify the rules, routes, or schedules for safety reasons.
