MINI FONDO KIDS 2026 RULES & REGULATIONS

 

1. Purpose of the Event

Mini Fondo Kids is a recreational and educational activity designed for boys and girls between 4 and 13 years of age. Its purpose is to promote cycling as a tool for social transformation in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.

 

2. Venue

Parque Sarmiento, Av. Dr. Ricardo Balbín 4750, CABA.

 

3. Mini Fondo Kids Event Schedule

  • 3.1. Accreditation and Race Kit Pick-Up:
    • Friday, October 9, from 9:00 to 18:00 hs
    • Saturday, October 10, from 9:00 to 13:00 hs
  • 3.2. Mini Fondo Argentina Race:
    • Saturday, October 10, at 14:00 hs

 

4. Categories

All categories are mixed-gender, with no distinction based on gender.

  • MINIS (4 and 5 years old): 600 m – Accompanied (*)
  • PEQUES (6 and 7 years old): 1,000 m
  • KIDS 8–9 (8 and 9 years old): 1,700 m (1/2 lap)
  • KIDS 10–11 (10 and 11 years old): 3,400 m (1 lap)
  • KIDS 12–13 (12 and 13 years old): 6,800 m (2 laps)

(*) Participants may be accompanied alongside the course by an adult, either walking or riding a bicycle.

→ Categories are determined according to each child’s age on race day.

→ All categories are mixed-gender.

→ In the first four categories, “everyone is a winner.” There is no podium, but all participants receive a Finisher Medal.

→ Only the KIDS 12–13 category is competitive, and awards will be presented to the first three cyclists.

→ Cyclists must be able to complete the course without external assistance.

→ The Organizers reserve the right to combine categories in the event of a low number of registered participants.

 

5. Participation Requirements, Accreditation and Race Kit Pick-Up

In order to participate in the event, the parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult of each participant under their care must present the following original documentation:

  • An authorization to participate in the race and liability waiver bearing the adult’s handwritten signature, whereby the adult authorizes the child’s participation in the race and acknowledges and accepts that the event involves physical and sporting cycling activity and the risks inherent thereto, including, but not limited to, falls, impacts, physical injuries, accidents and/or property damage.
  • Identification document (DNI, identity card, or passport) of the responsible adult.
  • Proof of age of the participating child (DNI, identity card, or birth certificate).

The Organizers reserve the right to limit the number of participants or reject registrations.

 

6. Participation Kit

Each registered participant will receive:

  • Bicycle number
  • Finisher Medal
  • One entry number for the prize draws corresponding to each category

 

7. Mandatory Equipment

  • Participants must have:
    • A bicycle in perfect working condition and equipped with brakes
    • A properly fastened helmet, which must be worn at all times while riding the course

    The following are not permitted:

    • Bicycles with training wheels
    • Aerobars, extensions, or any other potentially dangerous equipment
    • Electric bicycles, recumbent bicycles, tandems, or unicycles

 

8. Event Procedure

  • The starting order will be organized by category and according to the order in which participants arrive at the starting grid.
  • The courses are adapted to each age group.
  • A participant will be considered to have finished the race only when crossing the finish line while riding their bicycle.
  • The Organizers may prevent any child from participating whenever they consider that the child’s bicycle and/or the conduct or condition of the child and/or their responsible adult may represent a risk to their own safety or to that of other participants.

 

9. Awards and Prize Draws

  • All participants will receive a Finisher Medal.
  • In the KIDS 12–13 category, awards will also be presented to the first three finishers.
  • Prize draws will be held among all participants in each category, giving every cyclist the opportunity to win a prize.

 

10. Conduct and Safety

  • The use of headphones and mobile phones during the race is prohibited.
  • Participants may not push, pull, or provide physical assistance to one another.
  • Shortening or cutting the course is prohibited.
  • Cyclists must behave respectfully toward the Organizers, volunteers, fellow cyclists, and/or accompanying adults.
  • No cyclist may use offensive, abusive, or inappropriate language during the event.

 

11. Assumption of Risk

Participation in Mini Fondo Kids is undertaken under the sole responsibility of each registered participant and their responsible adult.

The responsible adult must ensure that the health condition of the child under their responsibility is suitable for participation in the event.

The responsible adult is responsible for ensuring that both the bicycle and the cyclist comply with all established safety requirements.

The Organizers shall not be liable for accidents occurring before, during, or after the race beyond the scope of the insurance coverage contracted for the event.

 

12. Insurance

The responsible adult of each participant is responsible for obtaining a personal accident insurance policy for the child.

The Organizers may, at their sole discretion, offer additional insurance coverage.

 

13. Final Provisions

Registration implies full acceptance of these Rules and Regulations, as well as the applicable Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policies.

The Organizers reserve the right, at their sole and absolute discretion, to deny admission and/or revoke the registration of any participant, as well as to disqualify a cyclist whenever circumstances so warrant.

The Organizers may modify these Rules and Regulations, the courses, or the schedules for safety reasons or due to force majeure.
